To accomplish both of these asks, I offer my services on a tier system. You may feel free to choose one, or bring any and all pricing-related questions to our consultation call.
TIER 1: $85 flat fee that includes 1 hour and a half interview session and finalized obituary / eulogy. (Obituary/eulogy projects usually only require 1 session. Additional sessions if needed are $30/session.)
TIER 2: Sliding scale between flat rate of $55- $80. Pay what you can. No questions asked.
TIER 3: Other rate, at the agreement and discernment between myself and client, based on a compromise between their unique situation, needs, and financial circumstances.
TIER 1: $575 flat fee that includes up to 7 one-hour interview sessions and a printed, professionally bound life story book. (Additional sessions if needed are $50/session.)
TIER 2: Sliding scale between flat rate of $250- $400. Pay what you can. No questions asked.
TIER 3: Other rate, at the agreement and discernment between myself and client, based on a compromise between their unique situation, needs, and financial circumstances.

I understand that death work is ultimately heart-work. Death workers and doulas are so desperately needed, but are often under-utilized either due to a lack of awareness around our work, and/or cost limitations. I am sensitive to both realities, especially regarding finances.
I have wrestled long and hard with this issue of making money as a death worker. Sometimes I wonder if it is even ethical to charge anything. But then I take into account the value that a doula can bring, and like any trade, value should be fairly compensated to honor the individual’s work. Honoring (and helping to legitimize the work of death doulas) is ultimately why I chose to charge for my services.
Death doula care and grief support are not clinical services. Nor are they medical treatment of any kind. The role of a death doula is strictly non-medical – death doulas do not prescribe, diagnose, treat, or administer medication.
Upon signing a contract with Niki / Numbered Days, you (the Client) acknowledge that death doula care and grief support are not clinical care and are not considered mental health counseling.
The Client is acknowledging that, while confidentiality and privacy are a top priority, death doula care and grief support is not bound by HIPPA and other confidentiality-related laws.
The Client agrees to provide full and complete payment for services rendered as outlined in the executed contract.
